DTN COMMENTS:  All is quiet in cash cattle country at midday with bids 
and asking prices not fully established. Significant trade volume will 
likely be delayed until Wednesday or later. Mandatory did report some 
trade in Kansas yesterday at $247 to $248, this is not necessarily what 
the price trend for the week will be. 

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 384.78 +2.86, select 383.08 -
0.56) with light box movement (29.90 lds of choice cuts, 5.89 lds of 
select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 6.94 lds of ground). Cattle futures 
near the top of the noon hour are sharply higher on both live and feeder 
contracts.
