Weekly Beef Export Sales 02/05 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 389,100 pieces for 2026 were down 19 percent
from the previous week and 42 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases were primarily for China (198,400 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 9,500 pieces), Brazil (44,000 whole cattle hides), Thailand
(35,500 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 2,100 pieces), Turkey
(33,700 whole cattle hides), and South Korea (31,300 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 2,500 pieces). Total net sales reductions of 500
kip skins were for Germany. Exports of 383,700 whole cattle hides were up
13 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week
average. The destinations were primarily to China (262,000 pieces), Mexico
(43,200 pieces), South Korea (32,900 pieces), Thailand (15,300 pieces),
and Brazil (9,100 pieces). Exports of 3,800 kip skins were to Germany.
Net sales reductions of 3,800 wet blues for 2026 were down noticeably from
the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily
for Thailand (14,900 unsplit), Mexico (8,400 grain splits), China (6,500
unsplit), Taiwan (2,800 grain splits, including decreases of 100 unsplit),
and Vietnam (2,300 unsplit), were offset by reductions for Italy (38,600
unsplit) and Hong Kong (100 unsplit). Total net sales of 77,300 unsplit
for 2027 were for Italy. Exports of 145,400 wet blues were down 2 percent
from the previous week, but up 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.
The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (44,900 unsplit), Italy (39,400
unsplit), China (23,000 unsplit), Hong Kong (13,600 unsplit), and Thailand
(8,000 unsplit). Exports of 3,000 other excluding wet blues were to
Turkey. Total net sales of 43,000 splits were for China. Exports of
128,300 splits were to China.
Beef: Net sales of 19,700 MT for 2026 were up 17 percent from the previous
week, but down 19 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were
primarily for South Korea (7,600 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Japan
(6,300 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Taiwan (1,500 MT, including
decreases of 100 MT), Mexico (1,100 MT, including decreases of 200 MT),
and Hong Kong (900 MT, including decreases of 100 MT). Exports of 13,000
MT were up 3 percent from the previous week, but down 2 percent from the
prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to South Korea
(4,400 MT), Japan (3,800 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), Taiwan (1,300 MT), and
Hong Kong (700 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 35,100 MT for 2026 were down 37 percent from the
previous week and 48 percent from the prior 4-year average. Increases
primarily for Mexico (13,800 MT, including decreases of 8,100 MT), China
(5,200 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), Canada (4,700 MT, including
decreases of 300 MT), Japan (4,000 MT, including decreases of 2,900 MT),
and South Korea (2,600 MT, including decrease of 1,400 MT). Exports of
37,600 MT were up 5 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the
prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (16,900
MT), Japan (4,300 MT), South Korea (3,800 MT), Canada (3,300 MT), and
China (3,000 MT).
